The weekend before Thanksgiving, Ben's niece got married in Mesa, so we drove down for the big day.

Kaitie and Austin
Usually waiting around after the temple for picture taking can get kind of boring, but not with this cutie around! He was full of smiles that day!
Tristan showed off some of his sweet dance moves at the reception.

After a great weekend in Arizona, we drove to Vegas and spent the rest of the week there having fun. Here are a few fun things we did:

Went cruising in Grandpa's '57 T-Bird
Found a mustache dispensing machine.

Ate at Yogurtland...twice
Had Thanksgiving with the Hodson's. Tristan really didn't care about the food...I wonder why?
Cory tried on cousin Milo's hat

Went to the dry lake with Ben's sister and family. Tristan was in heaven.
Good thing cousin Mitch gave him his old dirt bike helmet.
We had a great time!

Halloween

Good times during Halloween week:

Tristan and Ben did the carving...
Cory & I watched.
Tristan's preschool class went on a "field trip" to a pumpkin patch. It was FREEZING that morning (and actually snowed later that day...bleck), but we had fun. There was a corn maze, non-spooky light alley, playgound, small petting zoo (actually, you couldn't really pet anything. If you stuck your fingers through the cage, you would have been bit. So we just looked at the animals) and hot cocoa.
Later that week Tristan's preschool class had a Halloween party. We wanted Tristan to be a monkey for Halloween, Tristan wanted to be Batman. He won.
Did you know Batman is a Salt Lake Real fan? Luckily there was a game on Halloween so Batman could show his support!
Cory supported the team from his warm carseat.
Then we got ready for trick-or-treating.
Batman and a lion.
And even though I didn't get any pictures, my mom came up for the weekend. We love it when Grandma comes and wish she could stay longer.

At least we have Batman around to protect us from the bad guys...

Itty Bitty Football

The rec center near our house offers "itty bitty" sports throughout the year and this month they had itty bitty football. So we signed Tristan up and he loved it! They rotated through stations practicing throwing the football, kicking it, running with it, and trying to take off each others flags. It was really cute.

At first, Tristan didn't really understand the concept that you are supposed to chase after the kid with the football and try to get his flag. He just stood there and watch the boy run passed him. After A LOT of explaining, he figured it out. Although maybe we should have explained that you only take off the other team's flags. He just grabbed at every flag he saw. This picture makes me laugh. You can see Tristan jumping for joy because he took off that other boy's flag...who happened to be on his team.

His team - the Jets

Coming in January - itty bitty basketball

Monkey #2 at 3 months...

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Tristan started preschool a couple of weeks ago with some kids in the neighborhood. Each week it's at a new house and they learn a new letter. They've also been learning the Pledge of Allegiance. I'm pretty impressed with his memory:
(yes, I know he's using his left hand - not worth the battle)

I guess to be fair we should start teaching him the words to
